With our Academy scholarship fund, and with instrument donations from our partner store, Le Magasin de L’Académie, we are committed to continue creating and supporting music programs in elementary schools and high-schools across Canada, and support parents and teachers who understand the value of music education in our children’s’ futures.

If you have an instrument you’d like to donate please contact us and we will make sure it goes to a young student in need.

We have supported the wonderful work of the Ottawa Children Treatment Centre, Children’s Wish Foundation, Tindale St. George amongst many other charity organizations helping youth in our cities. We are committed to continue supporting these efforts.

Arts and Youth Support

We have worked with multi-Grammy award-winning musicians such as Bobby McFerrin and George Benson, and helped bring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Oliver Jones to smaller city audiences who normally would not have the opportunity to host artists of this caliber.

We also continue to support young professional musicians by giving them new opportunities to travel and perform across Canada.

We have supported inspirational learning opportunities for young musicians, including the Canadian Music Competition winners and Lion’s club winners, in collaboration with the Brockville Concert Association, the CMC and the Gryphon Trio.

We have created musical exchanges across Canada and supported Juno award winning musicians with performance and teaching opportunities through our school and our association with Canadian Jazz festivals such as the 1000 Islands Jazz Festival, of which our Director, is also the Chair. We work hard to keep music and music education alive and vibrant.

Helping You Get There: Affordable Instruments and Rentals

We have developed a wonderful program for instrument rentals in collaboration with our partner store, Le Magasin de L’Académie, giving our student the opportunity to rent instruments for as little as $15 per month, with the added benefit of applying the full 100% of your first three months to the purchase of your instrument should you decide to buy it.

We want to make sure you love your lessons, your instrument, and as a consequence, ensure your experience gives you years of musical enjoyment! Contact us for more information about rentals or your educational discounts.

Montreal Academy of Music Director and All You Need Music co-owner, Samia O’Day donated her time and talent at a fundraising cocktail party earlier this month to help cover costs of a free concert being offered by Jeunesses Musicales to school children. An award winning concert pianist and music education advocate, Samia delighted the guests in attendance with a mini concert featuring pieces by Bach, Chopin and Debussy.  The evening ultimately raised enough money to cover the costs of concert as well as promote artist outreach in schools. Samia was proud to be part of such a worthy event and to support Jeunesses Musicales who is helping expose young Canadians to classical music all over the country.

Joanna Peters secured a $5,000 grant for new musical instruments in Park Ex.Joanna has always volunteered in her community and in schools to help bring music back into the classroom however this past year, she went a step further and altered the landscape of one school’s music program. Having heard about Musicounts, a charitable organize that provides band grants to schools across Canada, she filled out a 30 page application for her local school and was ecstatic to learn the school had been granted $5000 to spend on instruments.

Joanna and the school’s music teacher then turned to Le Magasin de L’Academie / All You Need Music and were able to buy a wide range of instruments from the store at educational rates that stretched their budget as far as it could go. With students now having access to xylophones, metallophones, hand drums, and various other percussion instruments, their music education program can now attain a level that it could never have in the past. “The students and staff at Sinclair Laird Elementary School in Montreal would like to say Thank-You to Le Magasin de L’Academie / All You Need Music for providing the instruments we bought after being awarded the Band Aid Musical Instrument Grant from MusiCounts this year.  The new instruments are an exciting addition to our music program.  It is such a pleasure to see the children enjoying a variety of new instruments in class as well as in the preparation of our upcoming Spring Concerts. Le Magasin de L’Academie / All You Need Music played a big role in fulfilling our instrument “wish list” within our given deadline, they were always so friendly and ready to help.  The CTV coverage is testament to how happy the students were to open the new boxes of instruments for the first time and discover what would become part of our school’s inventory.  Thank-You Le Magasin de L’Academie / All You Need Music for helping us with the last and most exciting part of fulfilling our goal.” – Mme. Helene Diguer,  Music Teacher,  Sinclair Laird School

“As a parent at Sinclair Laird and member of the Parents Participation Organization, I would like to say Thank-You for all the great instruments that Le Magasin de L’Academie / All You Need Music supplied us with.  We are always trying to help raise the bar in the students’ education and bringing greater exposure to music and the arts is a big part of this process. They were so excited to discover so many new instruments and equally happy to have new instruments in good shape and in more abundance.  Thank-You for being such and integral part of this process, we are excited to see all the instruments we have now being played by our kids.” – Joanna Peters   Mother and Volunteer,  Sinclair Laird School
